The New York-based artist claims that Quavo posed next to his full-size sculpture of a 1961 Ferrari GT in a video promoting his single “Trappa Rappa” in December 2024 without being granted a license for its use.
The sculpture does not appear in the song’s official music video, however.

As well as Quavo personally, Arsham is also suing his record label Quality Control Music and their partners HYBE America, the company headed up by music industry titan Scooter Braun.
The lawsuit says of Quality Control: “On information and belief, QCM had actual or constructive knowledge of the infringing activities complained of herein, participated materially in said activities, had the right and ability to control said activities, and stood to realize, have realized and continue to realize, a direct and indirect financial benefit therefrom.”

Arsham is suing for damages over copyright infringement and has requested a trial by jury. He has not revealed the amount he is suing for, but notes that his artworks are frequently sold for hundreds of thousands of dollars.
Quavo and Quality Control have yet to respond to the claims contained in the lawsuit. It was also not revealed how the rapper came into possession of the sculpture.
Arsham is responsible for the diamond sign hand sculpture for JAY-Z’s Book of Hov museum exhibition and accompanying book, as well as the sculpture-themed album covers for Nas’ The Lost Tapes 2 and Gunna‘s DS4Ever.
Quavo is no stranger to a lawsuit as last year he was forced to cough up $700,000 after slapping a Las Vegas hotel employee in 2018.

Following a jury trial, the “Bad & Boujee” hitmaker was ordered to compensate valet Antonio Henry the six figure sum after causing “physical and emotional” injuries.
For his part, Quavo and his legal team downplayed Henry’s injuries and claimed that he was instead looking for a “Hip Hop lotto ticket.”
