Quannum Records And Reebok Team Up To Aid Darfur

Sneakers and Hip Hop have gone together since the culture’s birth. Later, Run DMC took the rap/shoe game to new heights with their Adidas, and that trend has continued and grown through the years. Now, Reebok has teamed up with Bay Area Hip Hop artists of the Quannum Records crew to release a new set of kicks.

According to a statement on QP‘s official site, Reebok is slated to release four different shoes. They were inspired by Blackalicious (Gift of Gab and Chief Xcel), Latyrx (Lateef and Lyrics Born) and DJ Shadow.

Blackalacious, Lateef and Lyrics Born are all on board to perform at the shoe release party. Those in attendance will also have an incentive to arrive early as the first 30 will receive free tickets to a Mighty Underdogs show on the following night. All fans will obtain a copy of Stone Cold Winter Vol. 1, a mixtape by Quannum acts.

All proceeds will benefit Moms Against Poverty to orphanages in Darfur. Only a limited run of the sneakers were made and all will be sold at Shoe Biz, a sneaker shop in San Francisco.
