Queens, New York emcee/producer/deejay Q-Tip has announced two August show dates in the United Kingdom. The longtime front-man for 1990s Hip Hop group A Tribe Called Quest will be performing on August 23 at Manchester Academy, and August 26 at London’s Indig02 venue.
Tip last released 2009’s Kamaal/The Abstract on Jive/Battery Records, a seven year-old solo project.

In Europe they love hip hop. Tribe or not they’ll show ass. It’s bigger than what a traditional purist may think. It has since blown up both financially and popularly.
I miss it, but respect that it’s continuing it’s onslaught into newer generations and into the mainstream. One of the best things you can do, when you’re from the hood is get out (hip hop).
