On the eve of his January 9th incarceration, Mobb Deep rapper Prodigy revealed to media that he was in the emergency room on January 7th. As a result of the hospitalization, the Queensbridge veteran’s sentence will be delayed at least 30 days. Sources have yet to confirm the medical reasons for the hospitalization.
In last week’s interview with HipHopDX [click here to read], Prodigy spoke candidly about concerns of the imprisonment as well as his longtime battle with sickle-cell anemia. “I’m definitely getting special
treatment, because if they put me in a facility that can’t treat sickle

a facility that can handle that,” said the rapper regarding the gravity of his illness in late December.
Prodigy, who was sentenced to over three years, has promised to deliver H.N.I.C. 2 on Koch Records in March.
