Playboi Carti Blasts Kanye West For Using Sample Without Permission

Playboi Carti has gone at Kanye West for sampling his song “Crank” on new NBA YoungBoy collaboration “Alive”.

West dropped his latest single yesterday with Carti’s sample heard prominently in the song but it appears that Kanye has used the snippet without permission.

On Instagram, Carti posted “Crank” and wrote: “DIS MY SONG LIL BRA @ye.”

West and Carti’s formerly close relationship has become incredibly strained in recent months.

It was recently teased by mutual collaborator Digital Nas that the two were ready to build a bridge.

He said: “Ye is in touch with [Carti affiliate] Fritz [Owens]. I think we’re going to see a reunion soon. Hopefully. I don’t like to see my brothers separate.”

West and Carti have had issues ever since the Opium founder took West off his long-awaited album MUSIC due to his controversial social media outbursts about antisemitism, the Ku Klux Klan and violence against women.

In response, West threatened to end Carti’s career, saying: “This n-gga is stupid, bro. You don’t know, when I’m dealing with my kids, this ain’t your niece, n-gga. This is my daughter, n-gga,” referencing the Atlanta rapper’s recent attempt to collaborate with his daughter North.

West also said: “Don’t fuck with me, boy! Don’t fucking play with me, n-gga! You letting these white people use us against each other, you letting these Jews use us against each other, n-gga. I put you on, n-gga!”

West would later claim that Playboi Carti pulled up on him with a gun while he was staying at the Chateau Marmont hotel in Los Angeles.

During his controversial Twitch streaming debut, West made a number of accusations about his one-time friend and collaborator as their feud appears to escalate beyond social media shots.

West said on the stream: “This n-gga told me he was at the Chateau with a gun, n-gga. What that mean, n-gga? And the n-gga say he don’t be on the internet. It’s like, if you don’t be on the internet, what are we talking about, then? I ain’t say nothing, then.”

Before their falling out, West and Carti had previously worked on songs such as Donda standout “Off the Grid”, the number one single “Carnival” and “Go2DaMoon” from the “Magnolia” rapper’s second album Whole Lotta Red.

    1. It’s Ye’s song and he sent the beat to Carti to get it cleared. Carti is lying as usual. The song is official on DSP’s the Youngboy verse was for Ye’s song. People forget Ye produced for Carti that album that was him. And clearly it got cleared. Well Ye can get Drake to sue and has part 3 of the cop cam footage.

    2. Isn’t carti the dude who wears thongs?! Isn’t carti the rapper who sucks on lollipops in pictures. I could be wrong. 😑

    3. Kanye is a leech. No one but dorks and internet trolls listen to his South Park Family Guy raps.

    4. He’s back on his Christian vibe. Gospel probably he just confirmed. Jesus Is King 2 or Yandhi coming?

    5. Carti and Year literally copied their whole style and flow from ITSOKTOCRY. Ye collab with him.

    6. Not true get your facts straight beat was made years ago Carti had no issue with it then Ye gave it to Carti for his then upcoming album. Carti never used it so Ye decided to repurpose the beat years later and get YoungBoy as a feature who says Season 10 in the song referencing Yeezy Season X. Not Carti’s song but he has to lie and his legal team will be facing pressure too so will UMG like they need another lawsuit. He can use the beat however the verse is not his and he cant falsely claim it’s his song. The Ye version is officially on streaming unlike Carti’s.
