Playboi Carti Disappoints Fans As Antagonist Tour Gets Delayed

Playboi Carti has rejigged his tour dates just a week prior to its scheduled start, postposing the United States leg to next year.

The 26-year-old rapper’s team have announced that the Antagonist Tour, which was set to commence in Denver on September 6, will now have a late November launch in Dublin, Ireland. Whereas the European shows have remained the same, the North American ones have been shifted to mid-January 2024.

“Antagonist tour went from being next week to next year,” one fan tweeted in disappointment.

Some were a lot angrier at the short notice, with one ticketholder writing: “Fuck you carti why did you have to reschedule the antagonist tour man i have to sell my ticket now.” In the same spirit but even more upset, another posted: “I hope antagonist tour gets cancelled and carti never drops again.”

Some remained optimistic, with posts such as: “At least antagonist tour getting delayed means they dropping music and a great chaos right? RIGHT?”

All in all, Carti’s fans seems to be all over the place following the disappointing news, with Hip Hop influencer SK pointing out: “Playboi carti really be tormenting his fans bro, yall have been in shambles on the timeline.”

In July, the Georgia rapper announced plans for hitting the road this fall on the international Antagonist Tour alongside his Opium Collective.

The opening lineup will include sets from Ken Carson, Destroy Lonely and Homixide Gang at nearly every stop, marking it the crew’s first time hitting the road together.

With Playboi Carti touring Whole Lotta Red in 2021 as part of his Narcissist Tour, many began speculating that the 26-year-old’s new album, tentatively titled Music, would arrive prior to the start of his upcoming tour.

This is precisely why him postponing the trek was seen by some as a sign for an album release in the near future. Check out the updated tour schedule below:
