Philadelphia Rapper Tommy Hill Shot & Killed

Philadelphia emcee Tommy Hill was shot and killed outside of a bar during the weekend, according to several reports. Hill, a former member of R.A.M. Squad, began his career in the 1990s and was 36 at the time of his death. While several reports speculate that he was shot during a robbery, some reports indicate that other motives could have also contributed to the shooting.

Philadelphia’s Inquirer reported that while speculations have been made about this shooting, police officials would not discuss the case. According to the report, police officials would also not confirm if Hill, whose real name is John Wilson, was in fact the victim of the shooting.

The original account of the incident stated that Hill left the bar without paying his tab. When the bar manager and security went out to speak with him, masked men approached and robbed Hill before shooting him in the chest and lower body. Shots were reportedly exchanged between the manager, the security guards and the masked men, though no one else was injured. The victim was then taken to the hospital and placed in critical condition before passing away on Sunday morning.

Hill and his R.A.M. Squad partners sold records independently before being signed to Universal. They even had the chance to tour with Nelly. However, the group was later dropped.

    1. Man thats not cool man. Everybody was on WSHH acting like this shit was a joke. Thats somebody life right there no matter what they did in life thats not the proper response. God damn. The real people thats fucking your community over is in high offices.

      1. “The real people thats fucking your community over is in high offices.”
Really? I thought this may have had something to do with inner city crime. Guess it’s the politicians fault. Maybe someday, certain communities will start accepting responsibility for their actions(or inaction), and do something to stop it.

      2. is’nt it why they call it the trap?, your right but has’nt the country been set in a way that will ensure certain groups or it’s citzen can’t ever make it With a system of policies set and thought over for hundreds of years that have blocked progress over a very long period

      3. Whenever crimes happen, people love to associate it with larger injustices, in an attempt to categorize what occurs to understand, prevent, and often times, blame someone. This is especially true in minority ,inner city crime. And while there is always a bit of truth to the cause and effect of actions,at the end of the day, we are only responsible for our selves. God will judge us on our own individual lives and actions, not the community, or a group. We all need to take responsibility for our selves, and quit blaming others, as well as faulting others when we are not helping the problem, and may be a part of the problem.

      4. What do you think turned them into wild savages, and why these crimes happen. Is it hip hop, is it their bringing, how and what do you think all this lack of respect for self and human life stems from. Is it the Willie Lynch thing from slavery or was it brought over from Africa. Do you think we live in a racist society where ignorance has just been handed down through generations in the black community and it is just simply uncool to have an education and be smart

      5. God ain’t got nothing to do with it, so keep you beliefs to yourself. He turned informant to keep himself out of jail for 40 years and threw people under the bus. Men of ALL colors will seek revenge if they feel they have been done unjustly so it has NOTHING to do with the Black community, rap music or that other shet y’all talking about.

Instead of speculating, his whole ordeal with this is public record IF you want the truth, yes you can GOOGLE it.

    2. Damn, that’s messed up. i was just thinking of this dude literally the other day too. I grew up right down the street of the richard allen projects where they glorified back in the 90’s…R.I.P.

RAM Squad was the isht too out in Philly…

      1. Yeah, I grew up a block away from that too, Northern Liberties and the surrounding hoods, Poplar, Old Kensington, everything’s changed but funny how things stay the same. Hill was sleeping on Philly. RAM was a real movement, actually Richard Allen is still there even tho it looks different. It was only a matter of time for Tommy Butta tho, seems like he invited it

    3. He was a sitting duck at that bar…..Dont no shooting go on up there ….I smell set up…He brought that on himself though….

    4. Never heard of this dude, but it’s fucked-up whenever a Brother loses his life prematurely over some bullshit. Rest in peace to the homie.

    5. Puts life in perspective a little bit. All the back and forth doesn’t mean anything when you not around to hear it anymore.

    6. The account of that story sounds a little murky, but you can’t escape death when you probably cheat it everyday.

    7. RIP MAN. Apparently though he snitched on dudes from North Philly. So why go back? Whatever the case Rest Easy Tommy Hill!

    8. Dude was the wave before Beans and Eve…came and had a young
