Pharrell Releases 24-Hour “Happy” Video

Pharrell has released a 24-hour long video for his song “Happy,” which has been broken into six four-hour parts.

The video features cameos from several people, including Magic Johnson, Jimmy Kimmel and members of Odd Future.

Pharrell is airing the video on 24hoursofhappy.com

“Happy” is a selection featured on 2013’s Despicable Me 2 soundtrack.

2013 also saw Pharrell craft successful cuts for other artists, including Daft Punk’s “Get Lucky” and Robin Thicke’s “Blurred Lines.”

Likely in part thanks to those successes, Pharrell was named GQ Hitmaker of the Year 2013 on Tuesday (November 19).

In the magazine’s profile of the producer-singer-rapper, Pharrell said his songs, specifically “Get Lucky” and “Blurred Lines,” were successful this year because they allowed people to have fun.

“Both songs are for people who need a break,” Pharrell says in the GQ profile. “There’s a lot of fucked-up travesty in the world. Sometimes you just need a Hallmark card. Sometimes you just need to shake your ass.”

    1. Alright. I put that shit on for two loops of the track. My happy ass got pissed off real quick. Fuck that shit.

    2. The point is NOT to watch 24 hours. The point is to be able to turn on this video without having to turn it off and be happy until your not happy no more. Some of us thats gonna be 3 mins some of us its gonna be 3 hours. But no matter what this is brilliant.

    3. Should cut them into their own videos and air them randomly on tv and YouTube. 604=15. 15×24=360. That’s almost a different video everyday for a year. Now that’s some shit.
