Pharrell gave Chris Brown his flowers during his surprise performance at Something in the Water over the weekend.

Breezy was one of the unannounced performers at Skateboard P’s annual festival in Virginia Beach, performing hits such as “Loyal,” “Look at Me Now” alongside Busta Rhymes and “Under the Influence” on Saturday (April 29).

While Chris Brown was on stage, Pharrell praised him for his singing and dancing talents, as well as his music videos.

“Nah, nah, nah,” P began. “Make some noise for our brother. Came all the way over here to make this happen. Make some noise for Virginia’s own, Chris Brown! Lil bro, listen, there’s only one you. There’s only one you.

“Give this man his flowers again, make some noise for Virginia’s own! The dancing-est, singing-est, craziest video-making singing dude in R&B and pop music until now. Make some noise for our brother Chris Brown!”

Like Pharrell, Chris Brown is also from Virginia, coming from the small town of Tappahannock.

Pharrell previously collaborated with Chris Brown in 2009 on Teriyaki Boyz’s “Work That!” The song was produced by The Neptunes and appeared on the group’s Serious Japanese album.

The 2023 Something in the Water lineup included Kid Cudi, Clipse, Latto, Lil Durk, Lil Uzi Vert, Lil Wayne, Lil Yachty, Babyface Ray, Coi Leray, Flo Milli, Kehlani, Machine Gun Kelly, Nile Rodgers, NLE Choppa, Polo G, Summer Walker, Wale and many others.

But unfortunately for attendees, the final day of the festival was canceled due to severe weather.

“Dearest Virginia, we are the best,” Pharrell said in a statement. “These past few days have been the best. Even during this Tornado Watch and Lightning Storm right now as I type, we are the best.

“Thank you for giving the folks that travel here that energy and that LOVE that only we can give. Thank you to our partners, the vendors, production, policemen, firemen, the city council, the mayor and all who volunteered. The spirit here was felt everywhere!”

He added: “Next year we will shift the dates because this rain ain’t playing, but we will be! Next year, more acts, more merch, more food… just more! Continued blessings and favor to you all.”
