West coast duo, People Under The Stairs, are on a mission after the notorious Osama Bin Laden. Bin Laden is attempting to penetrate American airwaves through wack rap. George W. Bush has ordered Thes One and Double K to put a stop to the madness. Sound unlikely? The above scenario is actually the plot of a short animated film written by the P.U.T.S. called “Finding Bin Laden.”
The film is an effort to promote their upcoming album (among other things), which is called “O.S.T.” According to sohh.com, Thes One said, “It was a good way to showcase the sick sense of humor that is roughly the foundation for all of our music, me and Double K drank two forties each and sat down to write it. What came out was actually a lot wickeder, so we toned it down and it was revised by John Cornett at Om into the finished product. It really was a team effort. So far it seems like people like it. I hope that people aren’t offended or take it too seriously or anything like that. We’re just really stupid and we want people who aren’t familiar with us to know that off the bat. Then they can appreciate our albums more. We have a really hard time being serious.”
“O.S.T.” (which is an acronym for Original Soundtrack, for those wondering), marks the groups third LP. Their last, “Question In The Form Of An Answer,” came out in 2000. Their debut came the year before with “The Next Step.” Be on the look out for a tour to support the album. The album is due out next Tuesday on June 4th.
