Paid Dues Fest Changes Location

This year’s Paid Dues Festival has switched locations. The event, originally scheduled to be at the National Orange Show Pavillion in San Bernardino, CA has moved to the Shrine Expo Center in Los Angeles.

The last minute switch comes in the wake of a tragic riot at a rock concert at the NOS Pavillion. Show promoters released a statement claiming they felt it was wrong to have another show in the same place a week later.

“The decision was made between Guerilla Union and the Orange Show Pavillion in co-operation with the City of San Bernardino as they felt it was insensitive to host an event so soon after last weekend’s riot at the venue,” they said via statement.

The event, which was put together by Murs, with help from Guerilla Union, is an indipendent Hip-Hop festival that brings many acts from the underground together for one evening. Murs spoke to DX about the show earlier this year.

“This was just my idea of bringing all of my friends together with all of our fans to show everyone how powerful and amazing this thing we all (fans and artists) created is,” he told DX exclusively.

L.A. isn’t just the new home for Paid Dues, it’s also the name of Murs’ first single off Murray’s Revenge, the next LP from Murs and Little Brother’s 9th Wonder.

The album is set to hit stores in late March or early April.
