P. Diddy On the Strong Arm of the Law

For once, P. Diddy is on the other end of the law after being granted a temporary restraining order against his R&B group 112 from leaving Bad Boy. A Manhattan Supreme Court judge issued the order after 112 was trying to leave Bad Boy and jump ship to Def Jam.

112 was apparently looking for the new label because Bad Boy wasn’t giving them a full accounting record. This sparked them to search for the new label and actually sign with Def Jam. A spokesperson from Def Jam says that they were not trying to lure the R&B group away, “112 contacted us about signing to the label and we expect the situation to be resolved immediately”.

In response P. Diddy released a statement that says, “”I am shocked that someone who I considered a close friend for 15 years is attempting to steal one of my acts. Although I’m grateful the court issued a temporary restraining order in my favor, this kind of inappropriate behavior is disgraceful and I feel betrayed”.
