“I appreciate ya’ll showing concern but the missing narrative isn’t cool, especially knowing that people really do go missing everyday,” he wrote on X, the social media site formerly known as Twitter. “I took a little time to myself to get back to my roots, but trust I’m all good. Apologies to anyone that was worried. We don’t run from battles, we take em chin up. IM BACK.”

The whole situation began on Friday (October 20), when the Memphis rapper’s mother Angela Potts — who is also his manager — sounded the social media alarm about his disappearance.

“Y’all help me pray over my child,” she wrote. “He plans on moving back to Cottonwood where we worked hard to get out of just for a mixtape SMH! I ain’t talked to this boy in hours and he usually doesn’t do this… One thing I know about my son is that he doesn’t go ghost for any reason. Whatever you’re working on I pray GOD is guiding you. If y’all hear from him PLEASE CONTACT ME ASAP! To the fans he wants to please thanks a lot.”

There was a similar since-deleted message posted on NLE Choppa’s Instagram Stories and Twitter account, encouraging the Memphis rapper’s fans to get in touch with Potts if they’ve seen or heard from the rapper.

He turned up safe just a few hours later. Potts revealed that she’d finally heard from her beloved son, and that he had just needed some time to get his thoughts together. She shared the information in a social media post she titled: “Mother’s work is never done.”

“Thank you for the PRAYERS and SUPPORT,” she wrote. “Choppa’s ok he just needed a minute, but didn’t communicate it to his loved ones. I never intended to scare anyone with my post nor did I expect for people to think he’s missing. But the frustrations of being the mother of a celebrity can be overwhelming at times.”
