Legendary soul singer Aretha Franklin announced her retirement from music this week, giving Nicki Minaj a clean shot to take her place as the woman with the most Billboard Hot 100 entries.
As it currently stands, Franklin has amassed 73 entries over her long career. Minaj has racked up 71 since coming to prominence in just the last seven years or so.
It’s a phenomenal achievement by the Queens rapper, and she’s rightly pretty proud of herself – something that she wasn’t afraid to share with her Instagram followers at the expense of one Taylor Swift.
Her feature on Major Lazer’s “Run Up,” which has debuted at number 66 on the chart, has broken the tie between two women, leaving T-Swizz just behind Nicki with 70 entries.
Nicki’s message to the pop singer was, well, sort of nice. We guess. Minaj gave Taylor the love-eyes emoji and said “Oh hey, Taylor. Taylor and I were tied but thanks to u guys, #RunUp debuted on the Hot 100 this week so I was able to inch past her a bit.”
“Did u know she’s a sag like ya girl?”
Nicki Minaj also threw Britney and Christina’s names in the mix, saying that she loved them all. She might love them, but she definitely wants them to know that right now she’s on top.

Only difference is Taylor writes her own songs and performs them…..I know that has to hurt deep down.
Nicki has to realize that when Taylor drops her new album most of the songs on the album gonna end up charting regardless and pass her up again. Taylor also sold WAY more records than Nicki.

Taylor is the true artists I like some of Nicki’s music but Taylor wrote her entire Speak Now album on her own. She also wrote or co wrote all her own songs. She plays multiple instruments and is a boss business woman. Don’t say her success is due to her being skinny and white. Your prejudice is showing.
But her success is because she’s white. In terms of press, she’s played victim all her life. She used Kanye being an ass to portray herself as a victim. When Nicki talked about how few black people there were, nominated for video of the year, Swift got defensive, and turned a true comment about race into a comment about herself, and her “feminism”, by saying women don’t bring each other down. She made a true argument about race all about herself. She inappropriately touched The Weeknd’s hair, which is a big problem because it exotcizes and fetishized black men. It’s disrespectful. She never had to hold herself back from playing the stereotype of angry black woman. Even now, Swift tried to pull the victim card by blaming Kanye after that Famous lyric, and then Kim exposed her for the true manipulative woman she was. I call BS on the she writes her own songs part. She did write them at first, but she had an army of people behind her in the 1989 writing crew. Taylor is a businesswoman, but she’s manipulative and is not afraid to put others, like Katy Perry, Kanye, and Ms. Minaj down. She’s skinny and white, and never had to face the obstacles that a black woman faces. Do NOT dare compare the experience these 2 have. I’m happy for Nicki Minaj. She is a rapper who has the skill and the marketing to succeed. She has used her position as a black woman wisely, and has overcame obstacles to get here.

Nicki’s majority are features peaking in the bottom 50 of the chart whereas Taylor has most of her singles as lead artist with no features and in the top 20 of the charts and Aretha Franklin has class and style. Minaj has sold her body for hits. Aint hating just saying.

apparently all the features she was on count as her accomplishment like people bouhg the Song for cuz of her all the time.
Of Nicki’s 71 she was only lead singer on 27, of Taylor’s 70 she was lead singer on 67, and wrote all of them, Aretha’s was lead on all 73. They should not count if the performer is not the lead on the song.
