Nick Grant Offers “+ One” At Solange’s Table With New Mixtape

Nick Grant offers his own version of Solange’s chart-topping A Seat at the Table album with his +One project.

The four-track mixtape remakes popular cuts “Don’t Touch My Hair,” “Mad,” “Cranes in the Sky” and “For Us By Us” to share the perspective of a young black man.

“I was extremely inspired by Solange’s project that it forced me to write,” Grant says via press release. “It enabled me to dig deeper within myself and become a more personal artist. I connected with her words and felt her emotions. Hopefully, my spin on the music will do the same for somebody else.”

The Atlanta-based MC is now preparing his debut album, Return of the Cool, which he is planning to drop this winter.

Grant caught the attention of the nation a year ago with an ill freestyle on Sway in the Morning. He has since appeared on Funkmaster Flex’s show and performed in a BET Hip Hop Awards cypher with Kent Jones at Don Q.

Nick Grant’s + One stream, cover art and tracklist are below.

    1. Demolition
    2. Hair Care
    3. Mad (the Breakup)
    4. Fubu

    1. I tried to tell niggas months ago that nick grant was going to be a problem, I already put him in my top 5 with Nipsey, krit, Gibbs, kendrick. Def waiting on his new album.

    2. “My heart is calling pick up the phone it’s Eazy to put me on Thuggush Ruggish Bone” Boi can spit haven’t even listen to the other tracks yet. As a huge Bone fan I love that line, he got couple other dope tracks “black sinatra and the Jungle are great songs. I’ll be checking that album out for sure.

      1. I caught the Thuggish Ruggish Bone part been missed the eazy e line until listening to it second time lol, Eazy E put bone thugs n harmony on.

    3. Didn’t really like the beat selection, but still pretty good, I wanna hear NG spit over some soulful wicked shit, NO ID type shit, type of beats Common had on The Dreamer and Believer album. It’s in the early stages but N.G could potentially be on his way to being one of the greats only time will tell sometimes the game dictates where you go, look at Big Krit easily one of the best rappers but due to lack of exposure he will never be look at as such even though his skill set says he is prob the most over all most talented because of rapping and producing.
