Nick Cannon has said that he wished he would have had a baby with Christina Milian, whom he dated for two years in the early 2000s.

The pair originally met on the set of 2003’s Love Don’t Cost a Thing and entered into a relationship before parting ways in 2005. However, Cannon told The Shade Room that he wishes he had made a baby with Milian.

“Everybody talks about having kids, that’s the thing,” Cannon said. “If I say this, I know this gonna go viral, but when Christina Milian and I were doing Love Don’t Cost a Thing, I remember when I found out she was pregnant…I was like, ‘Dang, man,’ but I was so happy for her.”

He added: “I remember we was kids in love early on and so we talked about that, but to each his own. Life plans it out. The universe gives it how it’s supposed to be given.”

Christina Milian announced that she was pregnant in 2010, and welcomed her first daughter, Violet Madison Nash, with her now ex-husband The-Dream.

Elsewhere in his tell-all interview with The Shade Room, Cannon reflected back on his time with Mariah Carey, and said to this day he still considers her the love of his life.

“Like the greatest? I mean, I always talk about that,” he said of the Grammy-winning singer. “Then it goes viral, and our fans get mad at me. But I was 12 years old with Mariah Carey pictures on my wall, and that becomes my wife. And the fact that she’s the coolest person I ever met.”

He continued: “She’s just always happy, always doing for others. No matter what’s happening in life. I’m like, ‘Wow, a person can really operate like that and don’t allow negative energy into they space’ … When I found that out about how remarkable she was, that woman is not human. She’s a gift from God.”

It wasn’t the first time Nick Cannon proclaimed his love for his ex-wife following their 2014 divorce. Last July, the Masked Singer host told The Hot Tee Talk Show that he’d get back with Mariah Carey in a second if the opportunity came up.

“Of course. That’s my fantasy. That’s somebody I will always love,” he said. “I will never have a love like I had with Mariah. If I had the opportunity … if it could be the way that it was? Pfft. I’m there.” He then added a reference to Carey’s 1995 single with, “Always be my baby” before concluding: “We belong together.”

The comments come amid the pair’s negotiations to change their custody arrangement involving their 11-year-old twins, daughter Monroe and son Morocca.

The two parents currently have co-custody, but Carey is reportedly seeking a full-custody arrangement because of how little Cannon sees the twins duo to obligations with his other children. A source informed Radar “the reality of the situation is that Monroe and Moroccan are usually with Mariah anyway. Nick doesn’t see much of them.”

The new arrangement doesn’t accuse Nick Cannon of being a bad father, but simply states that Carey “wants to put him on notice that he can’t just flit in and out of their lives while he attends to his other children,” and she wants legal standing as the twins’ primary caregiver.

The custody situation came shortly after Cannon told Entertainment Tonight that it’s not up to him whether or not he has more children.

“God decides when we’re done [laughs] but I believe I definitely got my hands full,” he said. “And I’m so focused. I’m locked in. But when I’m 85, you never know. I might.”
