New Legal Developments for Chris Brown

The Los Angeles County Superior Court will be seeing a lot of Chris Brown. This week, a photographer named Robert Rosen filed a lawsuit against the singer for a beating outside of a fitness club in Los Angeles earlier this year. Today, Thursday May 28, Brown will be the subject of a hearing stemming from an alleged assault on Rihanna.

In the lawsuit against Brown, Rosen claims he only took a picture of Brown and friends playing basketball at a Los Angeles gym. Brown’s bodyguards allegedly chased Rosen and he claims he was assaulted and hurt as he tried to run away. He is asking for money to cover medical bills and injuries including loss of hearing and more.

This is a specious and frivolous lawsuit by one of the paparazzi seeking publicity and a payday,” Brown’s lawyer Mark Geragos said in a statement. “He’s done this before and lost. We will vigorously defend against this.”

KTLA reported that a similar lawsuit was filed against Pierce Brosnan in 2007 by a photographer with the same name.

Today, a judge will also decide if there is enough evidence for a trial against Brown in the Rihanna case.

Brown has been tight-lipped about the case, but he recently released a short video clip online. In it, the singer doesn’t speak on Rihanna but he does manage to send a message to fans.

Everybody that’s haters, they just been haters. All my real fans, I love you. I ain’t a monster,Brown told the camera.

Rihanna isn’t hoping for a trial. In fact, she wants to end this matter as soon as possible.

“She believes that the quicker this case is over, the more quickly she can get back to her life and her career, which is exactly what she’d like to do,” her lawyer Donald Etra said, according to CNN. [click here]

Brown is also working on an upcoming album, Graffiti. It has no official release date as of yet but a single may be out this summer.
