On the track, which was premiered by Akademiks, YoungBoy raps: “Knew that Stunna never loved me, should’ve listened to Carter.”

He was referencing Lil Wayne publicly warning him not to trust Birdman on the 2020 song “Multiple Flows” with Lil Uzi Vert collaboration where Weezy said: “And I had told YoungBoy to watch out for old head.”

According to Ak, “Tears of War” is the last song that YoungBoy recorded before his recent arrest.

The 24-year-old is currently being held in jail over his alleged role in a drug prescription fraud case in Utah, where he was previously serving house arrest in an unrelated federal gun case.

While it’s unclear what prompted their apparent dispute, NBA YoungBoy and Birdman had grown close prior to “Tears of War.”

In 2021, they teamed up to release the joint project From the Bayou, which was originally supposed to arrive three years earlir.
