Nas Plans On Recording Song For Son

One of the biggest critical successes off Nas’s number one Billboard charting album Life Is Good is the No I.D.-produced “Daughters.” Now, in a recent release from XXL, the Queensbridge rapper announced that he’s planning a new family-oriented track.

Nas said that he’s preparing to record a song for his three year old son with Kelis named Knight. Although he kept tight-lipped about the affair, he said that he’s already written half of the song’s first verse.

“I’m doing a song for my son next. I already got half the first verse finished,” he said.

Nas also reacted to the success of Life Is Good, which sold around 150,000 copies in its first week. He said that he’s humbled by the numbers and that it feels like a turning point in Hip Hop.

“I’m very humbled by this moment, much love to everybody. Thanks for the support,” he said. “It felt amazing. A good time in the rap game. It felt like the title. Everything was just flowing.”

      1. Yet you cared enough to comment on here. And you probably cared enough to listen to Daughters at least once, just like everyone else on HHDX did.

    1. nice thing. reminds me of Tupac’s Letter To My Unborn Child. i do not really like Nas because he was not a good friend of Tupac who is G.O.A.T.

      1. ACTUALLY YOUR WRONG THEY WERE GOOD FRIENDS NAS IS THE ONLY OTHER RAPPER THAT HE RESPECTED AND LIKED AROUND THAT TIME BESIDES WU TANG N BOOT CAMP CLIK

      2. lol by that logic that means you can’t like jay, ll cool j, mobb deep, biggie and probably tons more.. stupid ass logic

    2. “My son, the star, will be my resurrection. Born in correction all the wrong shit I did, he’ll lead a right direction.”

    3. im a longtime nas fan…his new album is so legendary…just when you think he has plateud, he does it agian

    4. go listen to
      nas- power paper pussy
      nas- film
      nas- who are you

really good non-album nas songs…i thought they wouldve been on lost tapes 2 but who knows

    5. WITH KELIS? Good to see they have moved on, even if she is still getting an unjustified amount of money from Nas

    6. “just like everyone else on HHDX did”

The song itself was ok, but I artists should just raise their kids right as opposed to doing songs where they admit their failures.

      1. no ones perfect, all parents have regrets. stop whining and appreciate that there are still emcees out there who really put themselves out there in their tracks

    7. “all parents have regrets”

Not the one’s who stopped and did it right the first time. Nas was blinded by money and women, and while that’s not surprising, making a song about it after the fact seems tacty. Like all rappers with kids are supposed to be screw up’s.

    8. Nas is good at naming…Destiny, Knight and his Nastradamus moniker

only if he was jus as good at hearing good beats

Jay Z in the other hand is the opposite…what the fuck is Blue Ivy?

sounds like a drug, or inspired by Blue Magic the drug from American Gangster….how did Beyonce even allow such a name lol….Jay should have reached out to Nas for name ideas…

his name alone Jay Z is corny as fuck
