Nas’ New Usual Suspects

After the Nas/Jay beef made history, the two went on to make an even stronger impact by performing together. If that wasn’t enough, they proceded to further peace talks by becoming business partners when Nas recently signed to the Jay-Z-led Def Jam.

Jay recently spoke to MTV about how it all went down and how much respect the two emcees have for one another.

Apparently, the rappers who spit lyrical shots at one another a few years ago are not as angry now.

“We kick it and everything, everything is cool,” Jay says of their new relationship.

When asked about a collaborative track between the two, Jay admitted to the following:

…”We’re gonna be in the studio and I’m sure the vibe is going to be right. If I had to place some money on it — and I’m a betting man — I would bet on it.”

He went on to add that he didn’t want to force the issue, but that he felt it was a good possibility.

When asked about who would get a chance to produce the landmark collaboration, Jay mentioned the usual suspects.

“I’m going to my team first: I’m going to Kanye, Just. Then I’m reaching out: Timbaland, Dr. Dre, DJ Premier. I’mma give everybody a shot, new producers.”
