The Queensbridge rap deity posted a black-and-white clip of Harry Houdini performing his straight jacket escape to Instagram Monday (July 17) further fueling rumors of Magic 2 being on the way.

Nas previously posted another cryptic teaser on July 13 that didn’t add much clarification as to what was to come.

The 10-second clip contains little more than rainfall and thunder sounds, along with flashing lightning that briefly illuminates the cloudy sky to reveal an image of Nas’ giant “N” logo.

Hit-Boy, the Grammy-winning producer behind Nas’ last four albums, seemingly hinted that he may be involved in whatever’s coming by commenting: “dark mode” and leaving three fire emojis.

However, a Reddit user that is considered a “Nas insider” and goes by Exact_Contribution54 appeared to crack the code, succinctly writing “July 21.”

When asked if the date pertains to a song or an album, the mystery account replied: “Album [witch emoji, Vol. 2 book emoji].

Based on the above emojis, there’s speculation that the July 21 album might be a follow-up to Nas’ 2021 album, Magic.

The 9-track project was also released as a surprise with no promotional rollout, so a sequel isn’t much of a reach given what little information has been shared.

Magic served as Nas’ 15th studio album and arrived on Christmas Eve 2021. The LP peaked at No. 27 on the Billboard 200 and featured assists from A$AP Rocky and DJ Premier.
