Nas Reportedly Dropping New Album Next Week, Fans Think It’s ‘Magic’ Sequel

Nas’ career has enjoyed a renaissance over the past few years, and rumor has it that the veteran might have another album on the way.

On Friday (July 14), a Reddit account that is considered a “Nas insider” and goes by Exact_Contribution54 responded to users asking for updates from the MC, succinctly writing “July 21.”

When asked if the date pertains to a song or an album, the mystery account replied: “Album [witch emoji, Vol. 2 book emoji].

Based on the above emojis, fans are speculating that the album might be a follow-up to Nas’ 2021 album, Magic. The 9-track project was also released as a surprise with no promotional rollout, so a sequel isn’t much of a reach given what little information has been shared.

Furthermore, Nas himself sparked both excitement and confusion among his fans after posting a cryptic teaser on Instagram earlier this week.

The Queensbridge rap legend quietly cleared his IG page on Wednesday (July 12) before uploading a brief and mysterious video of a storm, free of caption.

The 10-second clip contains little more than rainfall and thunder sounds, along with flashing lightning that briefly illuminates the cloudy sky to reveal an image of Nas’ giant “N” logo.

With the post lacking any sort of explanation, fans were left to speculate what it might mean — and many seem to think a new Nas album is on the horizon.

“Please tell me another album coming?!?!!” one fan excitedly wrote in the comments section, while another predicted: “Escobar Season begins.”

Hit-Boy, the Grammy-winning producer behind Nas’ last four albums, seemingly hinted that he may be involved in whatever’s coming by commenting “dark mode” and leaving three fire emojis.

    1. Magic sequel would be glorious! Magic is my 2nd favorite of all the new albums behind KDII. Nas re-establishing himself as the legend that he is! Can’t wait to see where this new album will show up in my Spotify Wrapped.

    2. Meh. His last few albums were good but nothing memorable about them. I can only name you a few songs from his last 4 or 5 albums, combined . The last great nas album to me was ‘Life Is Good’ from a decade ago

      1. This is the only nas post I ever made on this website, you absolute weirdo. ImI’m sorry that my posts get you so emotional

    3. Of every person who called Nas a GOAT actually bought his albums, he’d be one of the top selling hiphop artists in history lmao. Idk what it is, everyone respects him, but most don’t care to listen to his music.

      1. N-ggaz respect his creativity and mic skills. But they also run with a pack and will listen to what’s popular so they can be inside of the discussion. This is why a respected artist like Nas won’t sell, but an artist who gets less than half the respect sells double.
