Mustard has shown off his physical transformation as he continues to make progress on his weight loss journey.
The Los Angeles hitmaker took to his Instagram Stories on Monday (April 3) to share photos of himself before he got into shape, followed by a recent video of him being put through his paces in the gym.
“I look at shit like this everyday and get motivated! Smfh. Never again man,” he wrote, before adding: “Lowest weight I’ve ever been as an adult.”
Mustard also shared videos of himself running on a treadmill and lifting weights, while documenting his second workout of the day at a tennis court.
Mustard celebrated his 30th birthday in 2020 with a motivational post about him losing 47 pounds.
“I’ve debated on not posting on my birthday because of all that’s going on but then i thought to myself, do you know how hard it is making it to the age of 30 as a black successful man in this world!!!?” he wrote on Instagram.
“I do, and today i’m celebrating 30 years of life! I made a promise to myself in January before the lock down that I was gonna focus more on my health, myself, get off of social media, and ignore all the distractions that i didn’t need! Well here I am today, 30 years old and 47 pounds down!!!!”
Mustard’s weight loss journey has been years in the making. During an interview with The Real in 2016, he talked about losing 100 pounds, starting by switching up his diet.
“I like dressing in designer clothes and it’s hard to buy them if you’re overweight,” he said at the time. “I got tired of going in stores and I couldn’t fit anything, and overall I wanted to be healthy. My son runs around the house and I want to be able to catch him.
“I went to this guy, he’s called Dr. Levy, I did a lot of water and no carbs at all, basically no sugar. I talked to Dr. Dre for a long time about losing weight.”
He added: “I didn’t really work out or nothing like that. I didn’t start working out until I started seeing results and I’m like, ‘Hey, I gotta keep this going.’ I just stayed away from sodas and juices.”
On the music side, Mustard released his last album Perfect Ten in 2019, which peaked at No. 8 on the Billboard 200 with features from Nipsey Hussle, YG, Future, A$AP Rocky, Playboi Carti, Young Thug, Gunna, Roddy Ricch and many others.
