Museum Near The Notorious B.I.G. Shooting To Reopen

The Petersen Automotive Museum made headlines when The Notorious B.I.G. was shot while stopped at a traffic light outside the museum on Wilshire Boulevard in Los Angeles March 9, 1997.

The museum reopened its doors this weekend after 14 months and $90 million of renovation, the Los Angeles Times reports.

The museum includes galleries worth millions of dollars. One features cars from movies, including a James Bond Aston Martin and a 1989 Batmobile.

The museum is seeking to rebrand itself as more event-friendly, according to Billboard.

Tom Morr, a spokesman for the museum, says that Biggie’s shooting is “part of the museum’s history and something we can’t ignore.” But the venue is looking forward to making new memories.
