It’s always difficult to pinpoint a “greatest of all time.” Still, MTV has taken it upon themselves to pick the greatest hip hop albums of all time. Curious to find out how the list goes? Here it is:

While MTV searched through albums upon albums, another man has been doing the same. Underground sensation MF Doom has been searching through his old beats and records and mustered up enough material for a special edition box set.
The triple-disc compilation will contain volumes of his Special Herbs instrumental pieces. The collection also includes beats from various M.F. Doom, KMD & King Geedorah tracks as well as some new and unheard material. This rare collector’s item will only be available for 7,500 people, as only that many will be pressed.
The MF Doom box set will be released Januray 20, 2006.
