Mr. Lif Signs Multi-Album Deal With Mello Music Group

Mr. Lif has officially signed a multi-album deal with indie label Mello Music Group, according to The Source.

The Boston emcee is also celebrating his latest endeavor by reissuing his 2002 concept album, I Phantom, which was originally released on Definitive Jux.

“It was a very intentional decision to remain unsigned by any record label until I was absolutely ready,” Mr. Lif said in a statement. “That personal journey spanned from 2007 to 2015. I needed to step back and gain perspective on a great many things. I waited the right amount of time. I grew. I recorded an abundance of new material over the years, found the right record label, and now it’s time to come back and start round two of my career.”

The re-release of I Phantom is slated for a November 27 drop and Lif plans on releasing his debut Mello Music Group album in 2016.

    1. This is the type of nigga that I would make an ignorant decision on… his look just screams nerd-rap and does not captivate me to give it a chance.

    2. dope. haven’t checked much of his stuff but since I follow MMG real closely I’m sure i’ll be very acquainted with his music very soon.
