Mr. Lif has officially signed a multi-album deal with indie label Mello Music Group, according to The Source.
The Boston emcee is also celebrating his latest endeavor by reissuing his 2002 concept album, I Phantom, which was originally released on Definitive Jux.
“It was a very intentional decision to remain unsigned by any record label until I was absolutely ready,” Mr. Lif said in a statement. “That personal journey spanned from 2007 to 2015. I needed to step back and gain perspective on a great many things. I waited the right amount of time. I grew. I recorded an abundance of new material over the years, found the right record label, and now it’s time to come back and start round two of my career.”
The re-release of I Phantom is slated for a November 27 drop and Lif plans on releasing his debut Mello Music Group album in 2016.

Mr Lif sucks. Nobody wanna hear that weirdo rap bullshit. Nobody in Boston is listening to the dude.
And this comment right here is why Boston rap never went anywhere to this day. Lol
This is the type of nigga that I would make an ignorant decision on… his look just screams nerd-rap and does not captivate me to give it a chance.
And this is why rap sucks today: Jump ass lil niggas never try anything new.
Nah B… I don’t fuck with nerd rap. And rap doesn’t “suck” today…
YEAH
I’ve heard Holly Holm had used steriods, making her win illegal.
