More Trouble for C-Murder

After being arrested and charged with second-degree murder, C-Murder also known as Corey Miller of No Limit Records, will not be receiving the chance to make the bail his lawyer’s had hoped for. The judge in the case revoked the two million dollar bond to ensure prosecution of their witnesses’ protection. C-Murder is being prosecuted for the alleged shooting of 16-year-old Steve Thomas at Platinum Club on January 12th of this year. The prosecution reported to Judge Martha Sassone that C-Murder had a cell phone smuggled into his jail cell, which may have been used to “harm or influence” potential witnesses in the case. “We don’t really know what the purpose of the phone was”, said Conn Reagan, one of the lawyer’s from the District Attorney’s office. “The state’s position is that the phone was being used to influence witnesses, and since he had the wherewithal (influence) to get it smuggled into jail, he might pose a threat if he were released on bond”.

Although C-Murder’s lawyers are not disputing that he had a phone in his possession, they believe the real crime is being committed by the District Attorney’s office. “The prosecution wants to talk about and provide information that would be evidence of the offense for which Corey Miller is charged”, said co-counsel for C- Murder Ronald Rakosky. “It’s a silly notion that these witnesses would be in danger. There were dozens who were present and did not identify (C-Murder). No one wants to provide us with the basics to prepare for a defense, to look for other witnesses”.

Prosecution has until May 22 to provide the defense with a list of witnesses.
