Mobb Deep’s Prodigy Sues Vox Music Group

    Mobb Deep‘s Prodigy (aka Albert Johnson) filed documents in Manhattan Supreme Court on March 23 alleging the Vox Music Group failed to pay him over $30,000 in royalties.     According to documents obtained by the New York Post, Vox Music Group agreed to pay Prodigy $10,300 per month. The suit alleges that Vox has missed three payments and failed to give the imprisoned rapper a semiannual royalty statement, all of which have placed P‘s family in “financial peril.”

    During its announcement, the deal marked the first time Voxonic translation technology was used for a Hip Hop artist. Vox Music Group has not publicly addressed Prodigy‘s claims.
