According to news station WAPT, the Jackson State University student was driving with an unidentified female passenger on Montebello Drive at about 10:30 PM, when he was shot from the rear several times, causing his SUV to crash into a house. The female passenger remained unharmed, while Taylor was pronounced dead at the scene.

Jackson Police Department has been unable to find a suspect or a motive for the killing.

Shortly before his alleged murder, he unknowingly captured his final moments on his Instagram Stories feed.

The budding rapper first generated buzz in 2015, with his single “Colors,” while earning the top-downloaded mixtape spot on LiveMixtapes with They Know What’s Goin’ On the same year. He also has a single, “Special” featuring K Camp that has gained over 2.4 Million on the Worldstarhiphop YouTube channel. In a December 2017 interview with ThisIs50, Lonnie discusses advice he got from 50 Cent, and states his plans to buy his family a home with his first “mega-check.”

HipHopDX extends its condolences to the family and friends of Lil Lonnie. Several artists — including LL Cool J, Juicy J and Rae Sremmurd’s Slim Jxmmi — also expressed sorrow on social media.

      1. Yes another black king dead. It’s a sad situation. Plus it’s quite funny that corny mother fuckers like you waiting to hear news on a hip hop site. Won’t you go somewhere where you like it safe and sound then and get your music and updates and hear good things about Trump? Maybe Fox News?

        1. Man you shut up too both of y’all. Dude arguing on hiphopdx this site been dead for years lol. I still come on here cause I been a regular for years but this site is dead RIP

          1. Bruh I know what this is. And for

    1. I’m sorry, but who? Rest in peace to him, but I’ve never heard of dude. And you have different rappers and celebs making tributes to him. Juicy J is no surprise, though. I’ve seen him say RIP to rappers where it’s the first I’m hearing of them numerous times before. Lil Snupe, Dex Osama and Bankroll Fresh were a few others that come to mind where the same thing has happened to me.

      1. If it’s the first time you ever hear of these people but so many people more successful than you are telljng the RIP who is it that doesn’t know jackshit? There’s more to rap these days than Run DMC and Rakim you old head

    2. It’s crazy how u can’t even stay in your own hometown while u got fame and money without somebody hating on u this world crazy out here man?? rip Lil Lonnie rest easy?

      1. Probably gang related? It’s crazy when you live a certain lifestyle, things like this will keep happening. You should know every gang has enemies trying to kill you. Best stay away from all of that.

        1. well he was a rapper, and a college student so it those were not the type of things he was into

    3. Have no idea who this guy is but it’s a life lost rip ..indount he had bars an beats so his significance to hip hop is irrelevant but to his family an friends he made along the way I send my condolences

    5. It’s sad to see so many hateful comments to a baby that lost his life so young. He was 22 ain’t really even started life yet. Who cares about his skin color. That’s somebody’s child, brother, cousin etc that lost his life for what? What ever the reason it wasn’t worth it. Shit sad how many people don’t care unless it’s in the circle. People need to grow up become wiser. You got love and rest in peace from Savannah Ga. You will be missed

    6. no more tears. Us blacks need to stop this mess or just shut the hell up! can’t keep crying over the same stupidity

    7. LAWD PLEASE NOT LIL LONNIE!! Can’t believe he didn’t make it to Big Lonnie, plus he was a proud father enrolled in SNHU..

    8. I wonder if he was staying true to the game while simultaneously keeping it real. Did they have to bust a cap? He did have morals, stacking paper and sleeping with a lot of women, all while putting God first. Ironic? I hope that we all can maintain and stack our paper without someone reaching for the clip. Still hating in 20 to the 18.

    9. Well his name was Lil Lonnie
His arns were kind of scrawny
I heard he once had a friend name Ronnie
If he needed to clean up a spill he used Brawny.

They still haven’t arrested the player hater who straight busted a cap.
