Contemplating a return to acting and making press rounds for the upcoming documentary he’s directing, actor Mike Myers recently sat down with GQ and talked about what he’s been up to.
When it comes to Hip Hop, perhaps Myers’ most famous involvement came during a charity telethon he participated in with Kanye West. West infamously proclaims that former president George W. Bush “Doesn’t care about Black people.” Myers was asked about the incident and said Kanye “spoke a truth.”
“For me it isn’t about the look of embarrassment on my face, it is truly about the injustice that was happening in New Orleans,” he explained. “I don’t mind answering the question but the emphasis of it being that I’m the guy next to the guy who spoke a truth.”
Myers also said he doesn’t believe Bush doesn’t care about Black people, but had more White people been in danger of the storm’s destruction, the United States government would have acted faster.
“I assume that George Bush does care about Black people—I mean I don’t know him, I’m going to make that assumption,’ he said. “But I can definitively say that it appeared to me watching television that had that been White people, the government would have been there faster.”

Um Mike Myers has been around long before you were born 5 years ago. He is also worth 2-3 times more than Kanye and hasn’t made shit for a long long time.
According to celebrity net worth, Myers is worth around 175 million, while Kanye is 120 millio, so 2-3x more is a bit of a stretch.
Regardless, Myers doesn’t need anyone else’s ‘stardome’ as a jumper cable. Dude was arguably the most slept on successful entertainer from 97-2007 with the Austin Powers and Shrek franchises raking in money hand over foot.

As someone who pays federal taxes, who lives in an area surrounded by other people who pay federal taxes, I 100% expect quicker/better/stronger government response verses the quality of response in an area of people who do not pay federal taxes.
