Mike Jones is getting the acting bug. The Houston emcee that made a mark by repeating his name and phone number over almost every track is trying to make a bigger mark on Hollywood.
The rapper is finishing up work on American Dream. Although no release date has been finalized, Jones recently claimed the album will see daylight later this year.
Along with a new album comes new moves. Jones will make another appearence on Fox’s hit show Prison Break in March. This time, it looks as though he will get a bigger role in the drama.
Along with TV, he’s ready to hit the big screen. He’s in talks to work with established stars including Eva Mendez, Samuel L. Jackson and Bruce Willis.
To top things off, he’ll be following Jay-Z’s footsteps by getting a new shoe deal from Reebok.
In other movie news, Dave Chappelle’s Block Party will hit theatres March 3. Hip Hop acts Kanye West, Mos Def, Talib Kweli, Common, Dead Prez and The Fugees all make appearences in the form of performances.
The film marks Chappelle’s come-back after walking away from a reported $50 million from Comedy Central. It’s also a look at the recently reunited Fugees.
