Memphis Bleek has found an ally with fellow New Yorker Barbara Streisand, who recently quoted some of his lyrics in response to Donald Trump’s recent indictment.
On Wednesday (June 7), the 81-year-old EGOT winner — who has a well-documented history of political activism — took to Twitter to express her concern about the former president’s supporters or “cult,” as she described it, causing another revolt if he is found guilty.

The singer pointed to the actions of January 6th, where there was an attack on Capitol Hill following the loss of Donald Trump’s second presidential bid. Interestingly, she then quoted a lyric from Bleek’s verse on JAY-Z‘s “1-900-Hustler,” where he said: “The strong are quiet, the weak start riots.”
MSNBC‘s Hip Hop-quoting anchor Ari Melber also quoted the same lyrics while discussing Trump on his show The Beat. But it’s unclear as to whether Streisand got it from him or is a genuine fan of Bleek’s music.

“1-900-Hustler” is taken from the JAY-Z-led compilation album The Dynasty, which features guest appearances from Beanie Sigel, Memphis Bleek, Freeway, Scarface and many others.
Bleek caught wind of the tweet and couldn’t seem more grateful. As a result, he quoted tweeted the entertainer’s post to show his support.

The rapper also shared Streisand’s tweet in a separate post on Instagram, writing in the caption: “They quoting the kid out here.”
In April, Donald Trump became the first former president to be charged with 34 felony counts of falsifying business records.

Back in March, Bleek took to Instagram to share the grainy ’90s footage of him performing “Coming of Age” — taken from Jay’s Reasonable Doubt — alongside the Roc-A-Fella mogul.

Bleek was one of the first artists signed to Roc-A-Fella and grew up in the same Marcy Projects JAY-Z once called home in Brooklyn.
