Megan Thee Stallion has been gushing over her new boyfriend, NBA superstar Klay Thompson, as they made their red carpet debut.
The new couple stepped out together for the rapper’s inaugural Pete & Thomas Foundation Gala in New York.
The Houston Hottie also spoke to PEOPLE about the romance, saying: “Oh, we met and it was such a meet cute it was like a fucking movie. I won’t tell you how and I won’t tell you when, but it was a movie that he’s the nicest person I’ve ever met in my life.”
The gala is named after Megan’s late parents and she also shared a few words about them: “I feel like they can see what I’m doing right now. I feel like they’re looking down on me from heaven, and I feel like they’re like, ‘Yes, daughter!’ I feel like my momma’s so happy.”
She added: “I feel like she is clapping. I feel like my great-grandma is so happy. I feel like my daddy is like, ‘this is exactly what I knew my child was gonna do.’ I feel like they’re super proud.”
One person sure to be disappointed by Megan’s new relationship is her fellow Houston native, Slim Thug.
The rap veteran has made it clear that he has a crush on Megan after she played his songs at Coachella.
Slim insisted that Megan Thee Stallion had a thing for him after she danced to two of his songs at the festival and once brought him out at a separate show.
“Did y’all see Thee Stallion dancing to ‘Thug From Around the Way’ and ‘Still Tippin’?” he asked his followers. “If that ain’t a ‘I want you daddy’ call, I don’t know what is. So I’m just waiting on my day, kid. I’m just waiting on her to come to Houston and hit my line like, ‘Hey I’m in the town! Pick me up!’
“It’s only a matter of time at this point. She brought me out in Houston. I know she got a crush on me by this point. She danced to two of my songs! I’d say I’m in there. I think I’m in there. What y’all think?”
