Megan Thee Stallion‘s new documentary shows the star revisiting an extremely difficult decision — to take her mother Holly Thomas off of life support after Thomas was declared brain-dead following what Meg called “a series of seizures.”
In the film Megan Thee Stallion: In Her Words, the star describes her mother’s 2019 decline and passing, which she says left her “in shambles.”

“They had to put her under. She was just brain dead,” Megan says in the doc, per People. “So I stayed up there every day. I was spending the night at the hospital. I just was praying that she could shake back from it.
“Once I realized she wasn’t coming back, I was just like, ‘Damn, I can’t keep her like this.’ Because I know she wouldn’t have wanted to stay like this. So I had to make the decision to pull the plug, and she just passed the next day.”

In Her Words premiered on Amazon Prime Video on Thursday (October 31).
A synopsis for the film reads: “This upcoming documentary spends two years in the life of rapper and singer Megan Thee Stallion. It takes viewers behind the scenes as the global superstar recovers from a 2020 shooting incident and grapples with the perils of fame (among other things).

The multi-part series focuses on the personal and professional rise of the “WAP” rapper.
