After serving nearly six months in prison, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania rapper Meek Mill will reportedly be released today (December 2). Meek began his prison sentence in July of this year after violating his probation.
Complex reports that news of the Maybach Music Group rapper’s pending release was announced by Fox29 Philly.
The news station also reports that upon his release, Meek will have to participate in community service and will be unable to travel outside of Philadelphia.
Prior to his arrest this year, Meek Mill filed a civil lawsuit against the Philadelphia police department, which he ultimately lost. His arrest, which took place after he was seen posing with a gun in a video posted on Instagram, was made weeks after he lost his lawsuit. As a result of Meek’s prison sentence, the September 2 release for his Dreams Worth More Than Money album was postponed.
Maybach Music Group founder Rick Ross released a statement on the matter in September. “MMG and Meek Mill have decided to release Dreams Worth More Than Money at a future date,” Ross said. “In true MMG fashion, Meek has dedicated himself to perfecting his sophomore project and it is only right that it should be rolled out exceptionally well.” For additional Meek Mill coverage, watch the following DX Daily:

The Real HipHop DX Turkey Awards:
Do you seriously call this journalism Award? Remember when Logic was interviewed by Vick One as a joke, and said his album was overrated and HipHop DX took it serious and made an article out of it lmaoooo!
You literally just copied and pasted this from another website award: According to SOHH Twitter, a real Hip-Hop website, “CTRL-V”. LOOK mom I’m a journalist now!!!
This isn’t even related to Hip-Hop Award: HipHop Dx for covering a spike in Kim Kardashian…bruh wtf is this shit. Is this a porn site, is this TMZ or Celeb Skin.com. At least Paris Hilton is signed to a rap label…Kim has no ties whatsoever to Hip-Hop. My nigga Jigga got like 18 Grammys and 3 classic albums, Yeezy a handful of classics 20+ Grammys and all his records platinum. Beyonce just tore up the Super Bowl…and you write about Kim sucking on Ray Irrelevant J’s dick? I bet at the DX meetings you guys watch that shit in the office….I surprised we haven’t seen a fucking review on it yet lmaooo
The are you really considering this a single award: Hip-Hop DX for posting 1997 Eminem freestyle and calling it a single. We understand that you get more activity on your website with Eminem in the headline…but for fucks sake a 97 freestyle really? While you’re at it why don’t you find some of Eminem’s old break dancing videos at post those too…that’s just a relevant.
My Spell Check is broken award: Hip-Hop Dx! This website has like a million something followers on Facebook. This is the age of technology. Microsoft Word not only underlines misspelled words, but also incorrect grammar! Are you telling me you idiots can’t copy and paste your sorry excuses for articles in Word and comb through the sentences for red and blue lines!?!?! It takes 5 seconds!!
Worst Hip-Hop Website Award: HipHop Dx. This is honestly the worst website on the face of the planet. I wish I could get on here for just one day and see Ghostface, Kweli, Yasiin, Kendrick, Nas, Black Milk, Black Hippy, Cole, Big Krit, etc. have as many articles as Rick Ross talking about his diet, or another article about YMCMB not paying their producers and artists. Their use to be a thing called journalistic integrity…look it up. Hopefully someone buys this POS website in the near future because it looks like it’s being run by apes with Down syndrome.
Merry Christmas HipHop Dx..fuckin morons
I have a idea and please don’t take this as a diss but only as a plea to you my very concerned brother………Start a blog or a some-type of media forum to express the same Heat you expressed above real heads need and deserve to hear this. You are a bright light and a very dark tunnel now known as HIP HOP
^ If you feel that way you should develop a site, hire a staff of full-time writers, spend enough time grinding that you build up a strong following, then use your influence to change the landscape of what these types of sites report on.
Interestingly, your gripes serve in the same way many of the artists that you named above felt like about music at a point in time except they did something about it.
@ Barry Johnson OK
But I’m not a journalist. I don’t pretend to be. These writers do. I’m not a blogger. Why the fuck do I need to create my own website…there’s a comment section right here, so I posted a comment…
Just a thought no riddin but you have a skill set my brother,Share you’re gift !!!!!!
