Meek Mill is reminding the world that Young Thug‘s a real one amid news the incarcerated YSL rapper has been hit with even more charges.

As Thug remains behind bars awaiting his RICO trial to begin, 11Alive reported on Tuesday (December 13) that a new indictment filed last week now includes additional charges of street racing, reckless driving and speeding stemming from a May 2021 incident.

With an image of a headline about the new charges, Meek recalled a time when he called on Thug to help out with an abused teen – and Thug came through in a major way.

“Quick young thug story …. It was a kid that was keeping his lights on at a detention center and kept getting in trouble,” Meek Mill wrote. “we found out he was being raped by his uncle at night so he wanted the lights on …I called thug he stayed on the phone with him til sun up on ft!”

This isn’t the first time Meek has spoken out in Young Thug’s defense. Shortly after the latter’s arrest in May alongside Gunna and over two dozen other members of their YSL collective, the Philadelphia rhymer took to Instagram to share some kind words and a prayer for his peers.

“Thug put on many families I seen with my own eyes,” Meek wrote. “Stand up for them in these times not the lit ones! Labels, women, n-ggas… I pray that DA be fair to them knowing what we out here tryna survive. Thug and Gunna ain’t no crime bosses, they successful rappers with influence that didn’t leave their environment behind… If you bring your environment with you it’s basically RICO. Watch yourself out here.”

Young Thug’s attorney, Brian Steel, told 11Alive the newest charges are being brought as misdemeanors, so they hopefully won’t have a major affect on the current RICO case.

Meanwhile, Meek Mill and Rick Ross recently reunited on stage in Philadelphia, putting an end to rumors of a rift between the Maybach Music Group duo.

Meek celebrated the 10th anniversary of his debut album Dreams & Nightmares with a star-studded homecoming concert at the Wells Fargo Center last month.

During the sold-out performance, Meek surprised the crowd by bringing out Ross as a special guest. Footage posted on Rozay’s Instagram Stories captured the pair performing their 2011 collaboration “Ima Boss” in what was their first time sharing the stage in years.
