Meek Mill,Lloyd Banks, and Mysonne are among those paying tribute to Gillie Da Kid‘s late son, YNG Cheese, who was shot and killed in Philadelphia earlier this week.

“RIP CHEESE GOD BLESS YOUR SOUL! [open hands emoji],” Meek, a fellow Philadelphia native, wrote on Instagram on Friday (July 21) alongside a photograph of YNG Cheese. “Its So f%#kinh hard to survive in Philadelphia it’s a shame!”

Banks took a much more muted approach to his tribute. “Rest in peace young brother [praying hands emoji],” the former G-Unit soldier wrote in an Instagram post made on the same day. “My deepest condolences to @gilliedaking and his family.”

Mysonne’s post, however, was the most heartbreaking of all. “First and foremost, I want to send my condolences out to Gillie, and the whole family,” he said in an Instagram video, also on Friday. “Excuse my eyes. I cried myself to sleep last night.”

He continued: “What I realize is, we live in real strange and dangerous times. And I just said a prayer to God, because, you know, I got three sons. I let them know that I’m not that strong. I’m not strong enough to bury my babies. And I don’t think anyone should have to be.”

Police have yet to reveal the identity of the man who died, but a source close to the family confirmed to NBC10 that the victim was Gillie’s son, YNG Cheese.
