Meek Mill has called out Kamala Harris after he appeared to fall for some fake news about the presidential candidate.
The Philadelphia native said on X (formerly Twitter) that he wanted to ask Harris questions about her time as a prosecutor, specifically relating to her rate of incarcerating minorities.
“I wanna ask Kamala Harris questions about her past as a da, even if she had to be tough,” he wrote. “All I hear is rumors of her … I would ask her 3 questions about black and brown men going to prison and her views and try to help her understand from a survival standpoint point she may have never had to encounter!”
After a conservative commentator said that Republican candidate Donald Trump would likely be willing to sit down with Meek to answer such hard-hitting questions about his past, the rapper replied: “I think he would too on my platform lol politics are scary tho he just got shot few weeks ago. I’ve been tryna heal up from that gun stuff I got ptsd!”

In the run up to the election later this year, there have been various unsubstantiated rumors spread about Kamala Harris and her past work as a prosecutor.
One Facebook post which was shared hundreds of thousands of times alleged that she imprisoned 1,500 Black men for possession of marijuana.
During her time as California’s attorney general between 2011 and 2016, just under 2,000 people were sent to state prison for marijuana-related offenses, but that is inmates of all ethnicities.
There is no data breakdown of the inmates from that period along ethnicity and gender lines, according to AFP’s Fact Check.
On the politics front, Meek Mill has previously made attempts to reduce gun violence in his native Philadelphia.
In a social media post earlier this year, the Dream Chasers boss made a proposal to the city which he hoped would be accepted.
“Ima do a public contract with the city of Philadelphia where 10% of my music earnings go to the city of Philadelphia to combat gun violence in our city… ima start this movement! PIP [sic] PHAT GEEZ,” he wrote.
He added: “I wanna do in [sic] contract the city of Philadelphia!”

Between 2011 and 2016, over 1,900 people were incarcerated for marijuana-related offenses under her leadership as Attorney General. In all honestly, Meek has probably locked up more Black and Brown men than Kamala has just with his negative music influence.
Of the 2000 convictions it is quite likely that 1500 or more were black men. We need answers Kamala.
