Ma$e has offered some advice to LeBron James’ son Bronny on how to survive life in the NBA.

Speaking on It Is What It Is, the sports talk show he co-hosts with Cam’ron, the Harlem rapper-turned-sports personality urged the heavily-scrutinized Lakers rookie to embrace his inner “gangsta” on the basketball court.

Referencing the speculation that Bronny will play in the G League this season, he said: “It’s gonna get crazy in the G League because the n-ggas in the G League are tryna come up, and while they’re tryna come up, the eyeballs that they need on them is the game when they play Bronny.

“So I would just say this to Bronny: it’s kill or be killed. Every night. Listen to Uncle Murda: get the cornrows, wear the sleeve, wear number six — change your number right now to number six — and wear the red arm LeBrons.

“I’m telling you! Just try it one game and prove me wrong. I guarantee you, you’re gonna have about six, eight [points per game] and then you’re gonna say, ‘Wait a minute, that n-gga Ma$e knows what he’s talking about.'”

Ma$e, who was a standout hooper himself back in high school, then used Drake‘s transformation from suburban teen actor to slick-talking rap star to illustrate his point.

“You know how when you’re from the suburbs but you look like you a lil’ gangsta? Then you start tricking yourself into thinking you gangsta. Then before you know it, you a full-blown gangsta. You the 6 God, n-gga! You it,” he continued.

“That n-gga Drake said, ‘I got enemies.’ He started talking crazy. I said, ‘Wait a minute. The n-gga do got enemies! I believe it!'”

While Ma$e is encouraging Bronny to rock the same number as his father in the G League, the 20-year-old recently revealed that his current jersey number, #9, has special significance.

At a press conference this past summer where he was officially introduced as a Los Angeles Laker, Bronny explained that he chose the number nine as a tribute to one of his favorite rappers, the late Juice WRLD.

“Juice has just been a big part of me keeping calm in some situations that I’ve been through,” he said. “So yeah, just paying homage to him, especially ’cause he passed. You know, it’s a really important thing for me.”

Bronny also has a “999” tattoo behind his ear as a nod to the Chicago rapper, who has the same tattoo on his body. Known as the angel number, 999 signifies the completion of a cycle and the beginning of a new one.
