Martin Shkreli Could Have Wu-Tang Clan “Once Upon A Time In Shaolin” Album Seized

Martin Shkreli could have Wu-Tang Clan’s Once Upon A Time In Shaolin, the limited edition, one-of-a-kind album that he purchased for $2 million in May, seized.

According to TMZ, Shkreli was indicted for $65 million worth of security fraud charges last week. If prosecutors are able to establish that any of that said $65 million was used to purchase the album, they could file a forfeiture action to seize it.

In addition, the publication reports that even if any of the $65 million was not used to purchase the coveted album, if Shkreli gets convicted and the judge orders restitution, the U.S. Marshals could seize it.

According to TMZ sources within the U.S. Marshals Office, it’s likely they would target the album as it’s an expensive asset that could be easily auctioned off to pay the restitution judgment.

On the day of Shkreli’s arrest last week, the verified Twitter account of the New York branch of the FBI commented on the whereabouts of the album.

“no seizure warrant at the arrest of Martin Shkreli today, which means we didn’t seize the Wu-Tang Clan album,” New York FBI tweeted.

    1. What a thug. Send this guy to prison for life with his thug buddies. No room for gangsters in the pharmaceutical field.

    2. Wow. What an unfolding of events this has turned out to be. Still mad at rza for not giving this album to the people who helped make the Wu-tang. You know…the fans.

    3. fucked up turn of events… this album became infamous before one of us even heard a snippet of it. and if the feds seize it it’s a wrap! it was a great idea poorly executed, sorta like the last 2 wu-tang albums. i hope from now on rza will be more open to listening to the rest of the group when it comes to making decisions.
