Malik Yusef Says Kanye West’s New Album Is “Very Dangerous”

Earlier today, Kanye West debuted a new song from his upcoming and yet-to-be-titled album. The debut of “Wolves,” which features Sia and Ye’s fellow Chicago rapper Vic Mensa, marks the third song he has released from the project.

Last weekend, HipHopDX caught up with West’s longtime friend and collaborator Malik Yusef to get his thoughts on the album. Speaking from the 2015 ASCAP Grammy Brunch, Yusef described the new record as a mix of “avant-garde,” “very dangerous,” and “young.”

“Very dangerous,” he said in a clip that debuted as a part of today’s DX Daily. “Very dangerous. Super avant-garde. Super risky. Young. Album sounding young, he’s got his legs under him, man.”

    1. I agree with the comment below. There’s nothing dangerous about this.

Just more of Kanye’s awful autotune singing, and ill-conceived lyrics. When he’s not lazy, he can write decent rhymes and make good beats. But he’s no lyrical songwriter.

    2. It actually sounds like shit so far and pretty tame. Like he’s trying to be above hip hop so much that he;s stumbles across Alternative music from the 90’s and acting like it’s new.

    3. Shit sounds like trash so far. Only people on daytime T.V. who live in Beverly Hills & maybe soccer moms will be feeling this one.

    4. It seems popular to hate on Kanye now. Every one of his albums has been fire. Different, yes, but fire.

His next album will be just as good. He’s progressing as an artist, so anybody expecting The College Dropout should probably give it a miss.
