Yesterday (November 11), Machine Gun Kelly participated in a live Q&A session that was driven by HipHopDX’s readers on the site’s Facebook page.
During the session, MGK answered a variety of questions from fans on a mixture of different topics.
Responding to a question asking which is his favorite Hip Hop song, the Cleveland, Ohio rapper pointed to Eminem’s 2002 single, “Lose Yourself.”
“probably Lose Yourself or another song of that nature,” explains MGK. “has to be something that will always be relevant to a feeling i’ll have. i’ma always want to seize the opportunity, never let the moment slip, so that song covers it for me.”
After asking fans which of his songs do they most enjoy watching him perform at shows, Machine Gun Kelly subsequently revealed that his favorite cut to play live is his cover of Rise Against’s “Swing Life Away” that was featured on his 2013 mixtape, Black Flag.

Answering a question on how he deals with writer’s block and what “cures” he uses, Machine Gun Kelly simply says there isn’t any.
“there is NONE,” MGK explains. “you have to just wait for the inspiration to grab you, and when it does, go wherever the fuck it leads and hope that you’re not crazy for trusting that it took you to the right place.”
When asked whether it was strange watching himself of the big screen, MGK recalls covering his eyes when he first saw the screening of Beyond The Lights, which is slated to arrive in theaters this Friday (November 14).
“during the first screening i covered my eyes,” MGK says. “it was like hearing your voice on the answering machine. but when i saw it in Cleveland, with the whole theater packed with friends, family, fans, and my city, i could’ve got up and flipped off a chair i was so happy. hearing the screams every time me or my friends popped on the screen. my daughter loved the movie too. best feeling ever.”

In general, white rappers suck. Not saying it because I’m racist, but look at the list of great white rappers. I do feel they serve a market though and it’s good if it bring white people into the hip hop game.
I agree, but rappers in general (black and white) suck ass nowadays. Lose Yourself is a corny ass track and is one of the worst songs I ever heard.
