M-1 Speaks On His Experiences Overseas

M-1 [click to read] of Hip Hop group dead prez will embark on a speaking tour entitled “From The Ghetto To Gaza” that will take him to six different cities in a span of about six days. The tour, which will make stops in West Oakland, San Francisco, Sonoma, and more, will begin on September 24 and end on September 29.

As part of his speaking tour, M-1 [click to read] will speak on his experiences in Gaza, Cairo, and Europe. He will also speak on the similarities between the cities he visited and the ghetto’s of the United States.

In preparation for his tour, M-1 wrote a piece for the San Francisco Bay View detailing his experience abroad. Here is an excerpt from M-1’s piece:

“You may have heard me say, ‘I work for the people; the streets are my office.’” M-1 wrote. “Well, my recent mission to Palestine was a testament to that statement. Through the Existence is Resistance organization, I bore witness to a very moving and eye-opening experience. As a man-at-arms in an African Liberation Movement in the U.S. which is currently in the process of re-organizing and re-inventing itself in these times, I see the role of international solidarity critically important to our future world view.”

M-1’s speaking tour will benefit SF Bay View and Block Report Radio.
