It was over a year and three months since Los Angeles’ Tha Crow entered Loud.com‘s competition [click to read] for a $100,000 cash prize and a SRC Records contract. With the winning announcement coming earlier this week, the rapper told HipHopDX today, “It feels out of this world. You know when you’re going hard, you’re workin’ your ass off, and it’s the end of the fourth quarter of any [sport]? It’s the last shot of the game, and it’s all net,” revealed Tha Crow, who has been perfecting his craft for over four years.

According to the rapper, the label teased him before welcoming to a roster that boasts Akon, David Banner and The Lo (formerly Camp Lo). “They played a little joke on me that the role had filled up. Then, after that, they gave me the check and told me, ‘Congratulations, welcome to the family. Any questions you need to ask us. Anything financially, just don’t hesitate to ask us, ’cause we’re here for you.’ It felt like I was welcomed into a family.

That aforementioned check, reportedly to the tune of $100,000, allows Tha Crow to have some hard-earned fun. The rapper, an avid fan of tattoos, says that he will be scheduling an appointment with famed west coast tattoo artist Mr. Kartoon to get sleeves done on his arms.

This year I’m dropping Byrd Food, so I’ve been getting a lot of work from everybody that’s out there.” The rapper was unable to confirm producers and guests at this time, but promised high-profile personnel. The rapper will then follow the mixtape with another, Tha Crown, chronicling his participation in the Loud.com contest, and the music he made in it. The tapes will release in the next six weeks.

Tha Crow is also working on a yet-to-be-titled album, his first with SRC.
