Logic has addressed Maxo Kream‘s claims that he has been biting his style.

On Friday (March 21), the Houston hard-hitter called out Bobby Tarantino on social media for allegedly stealing one of his songs.

His post was in response to a video from FaZe Adapt’s recent stream where Logic previewed a number of tracks from his upcoming album Side Quest, which is inspired by Playboi Carti and other “turn-up shit.”

Maxo took issue with a particular record called “700 Club” featuring Wiz Khalifa, which has a similar beat to his 2019 track “Meet Again.”

“Jus stole my song huh,” Maxo wrote on X (formerly Twitter) alongside the clip in question.

Mike Dean, who co-produced “Meet Again,” also hit out at Logic in an Instagram comment, snapping: “Pay us.”

Logic responded to Maxo’s complaint in a video posted to Instagram the following day, denying his allegations and explaining that had never even heard of the rapper until now.

“I don’t be on the internet and somebody hit me about this dude I’ve never heard of before named Maxo Kream, who’s pretty dope. So probably like 45 minutes ago, somebody showed me some Complex thing that was like, ‘Logic stole this dude’s song’ or whatever,” he said.

“I was like, ‘I don’t know who that is!’ Then I went and listened to the song and I was like, ‘Oh wow, yeah, it’s the same sample.’ And it’s been sampled like 15 times since the ’70s. Nas has sampled it, everybody’s sampled it,” he added, referencing Cloud One’s “Dust to Dust” which was previously flipped on Nas’ “Daughters.”

The DMV native further maintained any wrongdoing by pointing out that he made “700 Club” from scratch on a livestream.

“The way that the song came about is a couple of months ago, I’m just on stream, Twitch, and 6ix had sent me a beat right then and there, from scratch. I’m sipping scotch and you can see me come up with this song from scratch,” he said.

Logic concluded his response by showing love to Maxo and suggesting that they should do a song together.

“I’m not with any of the, you know, bullshit,” he said. “I love seeing Hip Hop musicians thrive and do great. And this is just me very respectfully saying: I’ve never heard of Maxo Kream. I’m actually really happy I have ’cause now, since I’ve checked out his music, I’m like, ‘Yo, this shit is tight!’

“But I didn’t take your shit. I don’t have time for none of that shit. I just want you to win, I want everybody to win, and this is me being like, ‘My producer used a sample, I rapped on the shit, and if you want to see me do it from scratch, go look it up.’

“It’s nothing but love, man. Shit, let’s do a record! Let’s get this money and turn the fuck up! That’s what we should be doing. We’re brothers.”

Maxo Kream has yet to publicly respond.
