Lloyd Banks claims that Interscope is hoping to get him back onto their roster, but the G-Unit soldier isn’t having it – unless he gets an apology.
In an interview with Philadelphia radio personality Cosmic Kev, the “Beamer, Benz or Bentley” rapper explained the situation. “50 [Cent] heard from them,” said Banks. “They calling right now trying to figure out how to get the boy back in the building. They have to drop the apology bag first. You can drop that bag and say, ‘I’m sorry. I will never ever doubt you again.’ That’s just a contract to talk. So it’s still not solidified. Then I might just take it and go get a little drop and something.”
Banks’ first Aftermath release was the platinum-selling The Hunger for More, which was also well-received critically. Banks was also a part of several G-Unit releases, and released a second album, Rotten Apple. His sophomore effort did not do nearly as well – commercially or critically.
Lloyd Banks is currently releasing projects independently and remains a member of G-Unit.

Real talk seems like sounds scans are defining artists and isn’t about whether or not the music is timeless. It’s kinda sad but as the industry changed so did peoples view points. I remember back at a time when people did not care what an album sold, if the music was hot you copped and that was it.
But, I think you’re missing a major point. Soundscan tracks what’s being bought, and therefore what is essentially HOT. It’s what people are paying MONEY for.
This is an industry, and like any business, it’s about making money.
There are several albums that dropped in the mid 90s that were not stellar, but still went gold because the business was different. People were still making money. When that happens, it’s OK to drop whatever you want.
Interscope has a reputation for keeping only marquee artists on their roster. A dream team of rappers, so to speak – at least at one time in their careers. They only want cash-earners.
