LL Cool J Taps Saweetie For New Single ‘Proclivities’ & Red Light District-Themed Video

LL Cool J has recruited Saweetie for a new track “Proclivities,” which arrived alongside a Red Light District-themed visual.

The New York icon shared the clip on Friday (August 9), with the song scheduled to appear on his new album, The FORCE, out on September 6.

On the track, LL cooks up some raunchy lyrics, rapping: “Damn baby I don’t know if you dance or not/ I’d love to see you on the pole/ I don’t know if you conservative or if you a freak/ But I’d love to see you lose control.”

In the accompanying video, LL walks into after hours club called “Proclivities,” and acts out some of the fantasies in the song as Saweetie poses seductively.

Last month, LL shared the tracklist and release date for The FORCE, which will also feature EminemNasSnoop DoggBusta Rhymes and more.

Rick Ross and Fat Joe also lend their talents to the 14-track LP via the recent single “Saturday Night Special.”

The album also boasts some legendary firepower behind the boards, with Q-Tip producing the entire project.

LL Cool J spoke about Q-Tip producing The FORCE in a red carpet interview at the 2023 Grammy Awards.

“I know all the tricks. I got this covered,” he told E! News. “Look, it was executive produced by Q-Tip. The album I think is really, really special. I think it’s something it’s modern without chasing. It’s a whole new thing. I can’t wait for the people to see it.

“I think honestly and sincerely that Q-Tip as a producer is unbelievable and what he did on this record for me, I think is amazing. So the world will decide.”

Another legendary beatmaker was initially slated to handle production on the project.

Speaking with Angela Yee last year, LL revealed that Dr. Dre was originally supposed to helm the album and they even recorded dozens of songs together.

“So the real story is that I did about 30 to 40 songs with Dr. Dre, and in doing those songs, I felt like — the music was amazing, what Dre was bringing to the table was super dope — but I felt like the writing, what I was bringing to these songs didn’t feel strong enough to me,” he explained.

    1. LL a legend and top 10 of all time. He’s literally 5 decades in since the mid 1980’s someone who actually cares about preserving the culture should really tell him he shouldn’t be selling out this deep in his career and making songs with bum asses like Saweetie to appease the cringy Gen Zesters. LL this is a definite L for sure.

    2. This is a dope song. Modern day Doin it. The beat is dope and L does what L does. Saweetie is a good addition. They work well together. Looking forward to the album! Everything I’ve heard so far is super dope. Saturday Night Special, Passion, The FORCE, and now this. Really dope cuts.

    6. This is classic LL! Definitely a 2024 version of Doin it. The song is dope lol. LL has been in the game for 40 years and is still razor sharp on the mic. Most people have no idea how many hip hop trends…many that are still in place today were started by LL Cool J! He is the true hip hop goat if we are honest about it. Nobody has more respect in the game than LL Cool J!

    7. from the production alone, i can tell Q-Tip did his thing on the whole album! LL is rhyming with a whole new approach i’ve not really heard him do before on any of the tracks released so far, which is super dope. Saweetie may have just did the best verse she has ever done in her life on this song. she actually sounded pretty decent this time.

    8. i feel it but come on not hard to make a catchy beat with catchy synth with music editing software or a keyboard i feel it but where were you yesterday ll cool j

    9. This song isn’t good…. The hypocrisy runs deep! Saweetie doesn’t write her lyrics! There’s address better female rappers that write he could’ve used Leikeli47, Rapsody, Little Simz hell if you wanted sexy you could go Flo Milli, Latto, Baby Tate, Dreezy
