Rap/Rockers Linkin
Park are back at it.
The crew, which last released Meteora, is prepping their new LP with Hip-Hop legend Rick Rubin.
The group is not done with the project as of press time and the
album does not have a finalized title or release date.
According to lead emcee Mike
Shinoda (also of Fort
Minor) the album is on the way.
“We have narrowed it down to about 30-50 songs, and
some of those are heavy, some are softer and some are in between,” he
said. “So far it has a different sound that I cannot describe. It
sounds like it’s older, but not vintage. More organic in some spots, like just
yesterday we recorded a song with no samples that is completely raw. Other
songs are full of samples, he said to fans in an online chat recently.
Expect the new LP to be released sometime in 2007’s first
quarter.
