Lil Yachty has shown he doesn’t take kindly to criticism by shutting down an aspiring rapper’s dreams over a snarky tweet aimed in his direction.
On Saturday (November 11), the “Slide” rhymer took to X (formerly Twitter) where he went back and forth with a user by the name of @bigbabymilo, who slammed Yachty’s recent comments about the current state of Hip Hop.

“Made a whole album imitating detroit rappers. and another imitating tame impala lmao,” the user wrote in response to a post highlighting Lil Boat’s critique on today’s rap music.
The user then shared a link to their own music, writing: “Anyway if yall wanna hear some real rap.”
It wasn’t long before Lil Yachty caught wind of the slight and returned with a scathing response in which he told the aspiring rapper to throw in the towel on his career plans.
“And this shit suck n-gga, like bra ur never gonna make it,” he fired back.

In a separate post, he added: “U n-ggas will tweet some negative bout me to get all them likes just to post that weak ass SoundCloud link under it and nobody clicks that shit.”
Yachty also traded shots with another user who took issue with his comments and criticized him for “sign[ing] 4 female veezes and imitat[ing] earl when he raps over alchemists beats.”

“I signed one girl,” the Atlanta native responded. “And I don’t imitate earl… u n-ggas just be talkin bro.. u n-ggas who hide behind pop culture pictures just be sayin anything for likes and retweet’s.. people act like the world is goin to shit when a nigga gives an opinion.”
Check out the testy interaction below:
The spat stems from comments Lil Yachty made earlier this month at Rolling Stone‘s Musicians on Musicians event in Brooklyn, New York, where he argued that “Hip Hop is in a terrible place.”
“The state of Hip Hop right now is a lot of imitation,” he said. “It’s a lot of quick, low-quality music being put out. It’s a lot less risk-taking, it’s a lot less originality.”
He added: “People are too safe now. Everyone is so safe. I rather take the risk than take the L.”
Despite his complaints, the 26-year-old did show love to at least one rapper who he believes is carrying the torch for Hip Hop right now.

“I love JID,” he said. “JID is such a beautiful person. He has the spirit of like a real Atlanta Negro and he’s such a good, kind person and he just always embraced me with open arms so I got nothing but respect for JID. I never heard a bad verse from JID ever.”
