Lil Yachty has heard rumors about his failings as a partner and a father, and he’s not willing to stand for it.
On Saturday (December 30), a Twitter/X user took to the platform to allege that Lil Boat was a “cheater, colorist darkskin, [and] won’t change his daughter’s own diaper.”

The user cited lyrics on Yachty’s “The Secret Recipe,” in which he raps: “They say I got a type/ Said all my hoes they look the same, they said they look too light,” as proof of their claims, alongside rumors that he’d cheated on Mariah The Scientist with his child’s mother, New York-based fashion designer Selangie.
The user also cited an October 2022 interview in which Lil Yachty claimed that he’d never change his daughter’s diapers to support their allegations.

The Atlanta rapper caught wind of the accusations, and immediately took to Twitter/X to respond.
“Man, y’all have to touch grass. There was no cheating,” he began. “I am not a colorist in any shape or form. I have changed my daughter’s diaper — it was simply a troll. I do not post my daughter because I do not owe you people that. Everything isn’t meant for social media. Y’all be losers.”

He continued: “Just cuz y’all post every second of your life, doesn’t mean I have to. I never cared for any of y’all’s opinions on my child. That’s why you’ve never seen her. Because it’s not for y’all to see. TF?”
The posts were subsequently deleted:

Lil Yachty welcomed his first daughter back in October 2021. The mother of the Quality Control rapper’s daughter is New York-based fashion designer Selangie, although the couple reportedly split in early 2021.
Lil Yachty has been keeping his bundle of joy a secret on social media, with no mention of her birth (or his baby mama’s pregnancy) on his Instagram or Twitter feeds.
The only potential allusion Yachty has made about becoming a father came back in August when he tweeted a video of Big Boi performing his baby mama drama-filled verse on OutKast’s “Ms. Jackson,” along with the caption: “A flawless verse.” Although it’s entirely possible Lil Boat just loves the song.
In March 2023, Lil Yachty leaked a little more information about Selangie, though didn’t give any more information about their shared daughter.

“The mother of my child is Dominican and Puerto Rican, so she loves Selena — she plays her a lot,” Yachty told Billboard. “[We watch] the Selena movie with Jennifer Lopez a shit ton and a lot of Disney movie shit, like Frozen, Lion King, and that type of vibe.”
